The brain, just like your body, undergoes or suffers from stress! The same way physical exercise is done to strengthen the muscle, mental and conditional training also strengthens the brain-cell connections. To stimulate the brain, you need to do new things. This article has provided some ways to exercise and strengthen the brain-cell connections!
• Put Your Senses at Work!
In your daily activities, you make use of your senses to get things done. In most cases, nearly 70% of your senses are used to do these things. However, this is not enough for the brain! To effectively exercise the brain-cell connections, you need to stimulate the brain by using all your senses (100%) as much as possible through the day. This stimulation helps to condition your brain and put you in control of your actions.
• Try Your Brain's Retention Capacity
Try your brain's retention capacity by listening to news from radio or TV news-casts. Listening affects both the mind and the brain. When you listen to news either from radio or TV news-casts, try to recall and relate the news items to exercise your short and long term memory.
• Do Some Brain Development Activities
The brain needs to do new things for it to actively function. To do this, you need to develop interest in new fields or fresh new areas that concerns human life and beyond. You can do this by investing more time on some brain development activities like, skill acquisition programmes, word games, crossword puzzles, art and science. You can also learn new languages or learn about and travel to places of interest near or far.
• Make Use of the Dominant Hand
If you are right-handed, learn to use your left hand to do things like picking, dropping, brushing your teeth, operating your mobile phone, IPod, remote control etc. You can also do the same if you are left-handed.
• Learn to Socialize
The brain can learn and do new things when it is sharpened. One of the best ways to do this is by socializing and meeting new people. Most times, the ideas communicated during the course of these meetings help to stimulate the brain cells by conditioning it with the recent actions.
• Read Information Rich Materials
You can exercise the brain by reading appropriate and information rich materials. Read materials that will keep you in suspense of what you really need to know! When you feed your brain with materials rich in content, it develops and as such triggers the stimulation which strengthens your brain-cell connections.
